About maplestar

Welcome to Practicing Intentional Gratitude, blog home of maplestar and warriormare.  The name maplestar comes from the maple leaf of my home in Canada with a star from the flag of the US, which will be my new home next year when warriormare and I are married.

I’m in my 30s, the oldest of four sons and a daughter in my family.  I serve as the organist of an Anglican church in small-town eastern Ontario, where I also compose music, teach piano lessons.  I love technology of all sorts, especially new technology I haven’t gotten to play with yet.  My favourite things include Canada Dry ginger ale (never EVER Schweppes!), singing, the colour red, Formula One racing, and photography.  I try not to describe myself, but (with warriormare’s help) I might be pushed to use words like kind, generous, goofy, Anglican, musician, irreverent, creative, smart, or sillyhead.  I’ll leave it to you to figure out which of us would use which words.  :-)

Warriormare and I have known each other from various online Anglican communities since the fall of 1997, and we’ve both blogged on and off since 2003.  We met face-to-face for the first time in the summer of 2007, when we found that we were perfect for each other.

I hope you have a nice visit with us, read a post or two, and maybe even leave a comment.  You can email me at organist (at) gmail (dot) com.  Thank you for stopping by!
